Kodak Easyshare V1003

Kodak Easyshare V1003The Kodak Easyshare V1003 is a 10 megapixel compact digital camera with a 3x Optical Zoom, and a 2.5 inch LCD. It comes complete with 32 megabytes of internal memory, a maximum of 800 ISO and facial search technology. It also comes in 8 colours.

CNET has a review of the Kodak EasyShare V1003 and writes, "noise and artifacts plagued the V1003's images, softening and obscuring fine details. Photos shot at settings as low as ISO 400 displayed notable amounts of grain, which only grew worse at higher ISO settings. At ISO 1600, static-like speckles completely covered the image, softening all but the largest and most prominent details and rendering it almost completely unusable. ... If you want good-looking, high-resolution images, then choose substance over style, spend a little more, and consider the less stylish but much more reliable Canon PowerShot A640 or SD1000 cameras. They're not as colorful as the V1003, and the SD1000 has 7.1 rather than 10 megapixels, but they're much better designed and offer better image quality."

PCMag has a review of the Kodak Easyshare V1003 and writes, "My lab test shots confirmed the problems I saw in my real-world test shots. Flash shots had way too much colored noise. And although the lab shots didn't exhibit that much fringing, my real-world test shots of trees against a bright blue sky exhibited more purple fringing than I like to see. Overall, however, the color was quite good, with vibrant saturation and accurate matching. In looking at my flash test images, though, several of my shots were totally out of focus and underexposed. ... It's sad to see the V-series line of Kodak's digital cameras include such a clunker as the EasyShare V1003."

Imaging Resource reviews the Kodak EasyShare V1003 and writes - 'The Kodak V1003 did manage to capture a few things well. I liked the Macro shots I took, and I liked the ISO 1,600 captures, too, despite the usual noise; with the V1003, it was not nearly as objectionable as it can be. Most folks, however, would do better to keep it under ISO 400, and ISO 800 if all they're reproducing are 4x6-inch prints. Neither of those pluses, though, are likely to be appreciated by the target Kodak V1003 user when they keep missing the moment while the V1003 tries to focus. If you do a lot of shooting on tripods when indoors, and the rest of your shooting outdoors, and you don't mind heavily saturated colors, the Kodak V1003 takes a pretty good image overall, and it's very stylish, smooth, and pocket-friendly. But if you're trying to photograph pets or children, especially indoors, you should really look elsewhere, as the Kodak EasyShare V1003 is just a little too slow, even in the Children Scene mode.'
